This installation features a carefully groomed female poodle, posed and surrounded by objects evoking royalty and femininity. Upon closer inspection, one discovers her four puppies nestled in the patches of fur left by her owners—their only refuge of warmth. A little further on, a large and four small pearlescent muzzles hint at their fate, likely modelled after their mother’s. Beside her, a royal chair remains empty: one can easily imagine her owner sitting there… except for the fact that a pile of droppings occupies it. A trivial gesture or an act of rebellion, it is the only breach she has found. Sometimes, the prison is so finely woven that escaping becomes more painful than staying.
