Inspired by artist Remedios Varo’s painting (oil on canvas), “Still Life Reviving,”(1963), “Purple Still” refers to the low senses (feminine senses), in a surrealist form. It implies the mystic properties of the daily rituals and womanhood (female alchemist). In contradiction to Varo’s format (painting), which primarily engages the sense of sight, “Purple Still” engages the low sense of touch, yet refers to the themes addressed by Varo. “Purple Still” evokes everyday life elements and the low senses (to touch, to taste) in a surreal form. It is a celebration of life, of the creative force, the low senses, and the feminine divine. This artwork requires preservation care and comes in a custom casing made of glass or plexiglass.

To preserve the artwork over time, it is delivered with a clear plexiglass conservation box. These can be installed on the wall or in the form of a bell dome, protecting the artwork. The boxes can be mounted on a wall or flat surfaces. For more information, please contact: hello@janolapin.com
