A series of 20 small-format watercolours, inserted into cracks in the floor or presented on metal stands (arranged in a circle on a low base)

The pale, feminine colours falsely announce something light. There's also the dirty water my brushes soak in, which inevitably ends up on the paper. Colours tied to the body: pinks and reds, purplish tones, browns and piss-yellows. The water here is never blue — the water at the cottage is more brown, with orange reflections from late summer or a sky polluted by forest fires. Blue is nothing more than a surface mirage, the sky's reflection, deceptive. The water underneath is opaque, and the bottom of the lake can only be imagined.
