A moving-body photogrammetry in which fragmented landscapes and painterly color reveal the body’s porous relationship to its environment.

Photogrammetry, inkjet print on Awagami Inbe Japanese paper 75gsm, acid-free, museum quality

Created on the edge of a forest at the beginning of winter, this photogrammetry is composed through the movement of a walking body that continuously captures its surroundings. The fragmentation of the landscape opens abstract spaces that evoke the lacunar and diffuse nature of memory, while also engaging a painterly dimension. The work with color approaches a way of painting with the hues of places and passing seasons. This technique transforms physical movement into a photographic gesture of capture; the body, embedded in the real, becomes an instrument of perception, recording, and composition. It thus reveals the porosity of our relationship to the world, which we shape as much as it imprints itself upon us.
