This painting depicts two figures in evening gowns standing on a stage, each wearing an eye-shaped mask on their head. Their open hands meet at the center, forming a nose, while a painted mouth completes the illusion of a face. The stage curtains cascade around them, resembling flowing hair and enhancing the anthropomorphic effect.
Through this playful yet unsettling composition, the work explores transformation, theatricality, and the ways identity can be constructed, distorted, or performed. The merging of body, costume, and stage blurs the line between figure and face, reality and illusion.
