Made in the summer of 2024, at my grandfather's house. That year, there were lots of northern lights, even in summer, which was surprising. It felt like the world was melting around me. My grandfather's house is in the forest, so hazelnuts are common. Seeing them reminded me of the chestnuts I saw on my trip to Japan, the month before, and the sweetness of the fruit hidden beneath the spikes. This reflection led to martyrdom, to the notion of enduring and resisting, in order to perhaps enjoy the fruit, sweeter, later on.
