This painting forms the second panel of the diptych and presents a close-up of a single crow. The bird is transformed through the addition of a young, smiling blonde female head, evoking the figure of a harpy. This hybrid creature blurs the boundary between omen and seduction, menace and allure.
By isolating one figure from the collective mass of crows, the work shifts from an atmosphere of foreboding to an intimate, unsettling encounter. The contrast between the crow’s dark body and the serene, almost innocent human face introduces an ambiguity that questions appearances and challenges traditional associations of beauty, monstrosity, and mythological feminity.
