This painting depicts a woman whose legs are replaced by intertwining serpents, merging the human body with animal symbolism. The figure wears an ancient theatrical mask, evoking ritual, performance, and the tension between appearance and identity. The mask suggests roles imposed by history and culture, while concealing an inner, more complex self.

The edges of the composition are framed with stylized floral motifs, recalling decorative traditions and sacred ornamentation. This ornamental border contrasts with the unsettling hybrid body at the center, reinforcing the duality between beauty and unease. Through this juxtaposition, the painting reflects on transformation, concealment, and the performative nature of feminine identity.
