Collection: Timeless Romanticism

From March 31, 2022, to June 1, 2022, Jano Lapin Gallery presents the exhibition Timeless Romanticism, co-curated by the artist Cara Déry and the gallery owner Anne Jano. Artists Chloé Beaulac, Yannick De Serre, Rosalie Gamache and Stéphanie Morissette will present works of great poetry alongside each other in a common space.

Timeless Romanticism is an exploration around the theme of sensitivity, both material and imaginary, a visual encounter between 4 artists who gently weave evocative links giving off an impression of serenity.

The works of the artist Chloé Beaulac lull the viewer by her imagery, a thoughtful world where the mystical and dreamlike predominate. She uses photography to present an invented universe, a transformed dream. Duality, life/death. The great emotivity that emerges from the work of Yannick De Serre reconciles the harsh words with a softness of the image that envelops and comforts. The multidisciplinary practice of this artist intoxicates us with beauty before using, with great conviction, the harsh reality. Rosalie Gamache, a rising emerging artist, impresses with the mastery of her skills, the material sensitivity of her paintings invites contemplation and amazement. Exactly like looking at love head-on for the first time, a shocking, and emotional sense of realism. Finally, the visual universe of the artist Stéphanie Morissette freezes in time and space, the constructed form of paper. Like symbolic ornamentations from another era or taking forms of a nature oscillating between the vegetable and the animal, the works of this artist transform the effect and divert it from its primary meaning.
