Collection: Level 50 | Heidi Taillefer

From September 10, 2024 to November 16, 2024

Gallery JANO invites you to experience "Level 50," a retrospective journey through the five-decade artistic evolution of Heidi Taillefer, set in the vibrant heart of her hometown, Montreal, Quebec. This exhibition traces the arc of her creative life, beginning with her earliest explorations of pencil on paper, moving through her formative years, and culminating in the fully realized vision of the artist she is today.

Heidi’s journey in art began under the gentle guidance of her mother, Fiona Gibbon Taillefer, and was further shaped by a decade of study with Renate Heidersdorf at La Palette School of Art in Beaconsfield, Quebec. Over time, her work has traversed numerous phases, ultimately coalescing into the distinctive symbolist/surrealist biomechanical style that defines her oeuvre.

This exhibition is not just a celebration of milestones but a reflection on a lifetime dedicated to the pursuit of artistic expression. It captures the ebb and flow of a career marked by both high achievements and challenges overcome. We invite you to join us in witnessing the unfolding of her narrative, as she shares the story of her journey as a fine artist in this extraordinary, and perhaps once-in-a-lifetime, exhibition.
